Characteristics of steel fire doors:

A steel fire-rated door is constructed using cold-rolled steel sheets for the door frame and door leaf panels. The interior of the door leaf is filled with fire-resistant and heat-insulating materials that are non-toxic and harmless to humans. The door is equipped with fire-rated hardware accessories, giving it a certain level of fire resistance.

For Class A, B, and C steel fire doors, the maximum single-leaf size is 1100x2300 (mm), while the maximum double-leaf size is 2100x2300 (mm). The opening dimensions for door leaves equipped with fire-resistant glass are as follows: for T68, 300x800 mm; for T50, 230x760x30 mm (Class A) and 230x760x26 mm (Classes B and C).

Note: Class A, Class B, and Class C steel fire doors differ in the following two aspects:

The density of the filling material is as follows: Class A dry density is (400 ± 40) kg/m³, and Class B dry density is (360 ± 36) kg/m³. ³ Class C is (300 ± 30) kg/m. ³ The structure of steel fire doors is broadly similar to that of steel security doors; however, steel fire doors are not permitted to be fitted with edge locks or lock bolts. The internal filling material of fire doors must be a non-toxic, harmless, high-temperature-resistant fire-rated core board—not honeycomb paper, rock wool, or aluminum silicate, among other materials. Single-leaf doors and double-leaf (parent-and-child) doors may be equipped with fire-rated glass panels.
