As the Dragon Boat Festival approaches and the aroma of zong leaves fills the air, to celebrate this special occasion and immerse ourselves in the cultural essence of this traditional holiday, the Party Committee and Trade Union of Qunsheng Group have organized a zongzi-making activity for the festival. Employees of the group enthusiastically responded to the company’s call, and the event was held in the cafeteria at Qunsheng Group’s headquarters.
The employees participating in zongzi-making gathered in the group’s headquarters cafeteria. The essential ingredients—cleanly washed zongzi leaves, soaked glutinous rice, braised pork, and cotton strings for tying zongzi—had already been neatly arranged on the cafeteria tables. The atmosphere at the scene was warm and friendly; everyone chatted and laughed happily, and each person present could feel the festive spirit approaching.
“Take a large and a small zongzi leaf, stack them together, and shape them into a funnel. Then add some rice and meat—like this... and like this... Next, wrap it up, tie it with string several times, and finally, be sure to give it a good tap. And that’s it!” The wife of the group’s chairman demonstrated the process live, patiently guiding the employees who were still not very familiar with wrapping zongzi.
The emerald-green, slender zongzi leaves danced gracefully in their hands as they stuffed them with soaked glutinous rice and braised pork. Like magic, cotton strings wound themselves around the zongzi bodies in fluid, effortless motions. The diverse and fluid techniques for wrapping zongzi were dazzling to watch—before long, sharply defined, perfectly shaped zongzi appeared before everyone’s eyes.
Everyone in the cafeteria had clearly defined roles: some helped cut bamboo leaves, others distributed braised pork and glutinous rice, and still others neatly arranged the freshly wrapped zongzi. Thanks to everyone’s mutual cooperation, the efficiency of making zongzi improved significantly.
